A quick update
Well, I got to the doctor in the nick of time I think, I was starting to have suicidal thoughts, my skin was screaming out for me to cut into it though I managed to get around them and my sister took over. She saw the signs and took me to the doctor and has been a total rock over the last almost four weeks.
I’m taking Aropax (Paxil in other countries) because it has worked well for me in the past, it treats not only the depression but also the anxiety that I was suffering. It’s still early days, I’m starting to feel a bit more uplifted and starting to feel a bit more social again. That’s the worst thing, that isolation we put ourselves into when we get so low, we won’t let people near us yet the only person we hurt is ourselves – very passive aggressive!
During all the routine stuff with the doctor though, she did some blood tests, I also have an underactive thyroid which can also cause changes in moods, those levels were fine but she also ran other tests to check my general health and that’s where the problem came in. It seems that I have a new health issue to contend with at the moment, my liver and kidneys are both showing very bad results. This could indicate something like a viral infection or worse, so I had more tests and the levels were not much different at all. I have more in another couple of weeks to see if there is improvement, if not then they are going to have to delve deeper to make sure nothing serious is going on.
I’m thankful that I’m on the paroxetine at the moment, at least it’s stopping me from going slightly insane waiting to find out, I’m taking it in my stride and hoping for good news.
